PBR employs individuals with minimum qualifications and experience as stated below for each position. Please see for an available job opening under the "Current Job Openings".

Technologist I. Bachelor’s degree or 2-3 year diploma in any life sciences field with a major in microbiology, genetics or biotechnology from a recognized university or a technical institution.

Technologist II. The same basic qualifications as above with at least 1-2 years work experience in laboratory techniques in the areas of microbiology or biotechnology.

Technologist III. The same basic qualifications as above with at least two-three years experience working in a laboratory engaged in microbiology, genetics and biotechnological applications. Experience in GLP and international quality standard (ISO/IEC 17025) will be an asset.

Technologist IV. The same basic qualifications as above with five or more years experience working in an accredited under ISO/IEC 17025 and GLP-compliant laboratory engaged in microbiology, genetics and biotechnological applications.

Research Scientist. Master’s or a Ph.D. degree in biology with specialization in microbiology, genetics or any related field in biotechnology from a recognized university with 1-2 years research experience.

In addition, PBR also seeks individuals with basic degrees in science (with experience in marketing and management) and computer science (with experience in database management, networking and software applications in the life sciences work environment).

• Director Quality Assurance Program/Research Services
  PBR has a position open for a Director Quality Assurance Program/Research Services to manage our Quality Assurance and Research Programs. PBR Laboratories Inc. (PBR) is a leading Canadian laboratory that provides quality bioanalytical and professional services in genetic and environmental toxicology, microbiology and biotechnology with applications in product development, environmental safety and human health protection. PBR’s scientific staff includes PhD’s with specialization in microbiology, genetics, toxicology, and cell biology.
  The candidate should have a Ph.D. in the field of microbiology with three to five years management experience as a senior quality manager within an accredited (ISO17025/GLP/GMP) microbiological laboratory, direct experience supervising research analysts within an accredited testing laboratory as well as a demonstrated ability to deal with complex quality systems, compliance and regulatory issues. • System Analyst
  PBR seeking applications for this position from an individual with a minimum of bachelor's degree in computor science and management from a recognized University/Institution with experience of working in a biotechnolgy research environment.
  The position requires:
  Good working knowledge of retrieving and handling genomics data bases.
  Expereince in the data base applications for developing programs for various laboratory processes including inventory control, sample registry and experimental data collection and processing in compliance with the laboratory's QA/QC program.
  Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
