Research and Development
(R&D) is, and will continue to be an important and integral
part of PBR's operations. Being involved in one of the most
advancing fields of technology, biotechnology and its application
to environment and human health. PBR is committed to maintaining
a strong R&D program to foster innovation and benefits
from rapidly developing technologies.
The
focus of PBR's R&D program is to:
- Develop
new diagnostic technologies for clinical environmental
applications.
- Develop
assays for rapid screening of chemical mutagens, carcinogens
and environmental estrogens.
- Isolate
and screen bacterial and fungal strains for effluent treatment,
environmental contaminant degradation, and discovering
novel biotechnology products.
- Develop
or license technologies for rapis identification of microbial
pathogens in food, water and indoor air and
- Exploit
application of nanotechnology in developing high throughput
diagnostic techniques.
