A supplier Certificate of Analysis provides analytical information reported for a specific lot.

Independent testing can help determine whether selected parameters in the material submitted to PBR align with the values or specifications requiring verification.

Step 1: Decide What Matters

Do not automatically retest every line.

Identify parameters important to:

  • product quality;
  • supplier risk;
  • formulation;
  • contaminant control;
  • microbiological quality.

Step 2: Confirm Method Alignment

Results obtained using different methods may not be directly comparable.

Step 3: Submit a Representative Sample

If the sample does not represent the lot, the comparison may have limited value.

Step 4: Compare Against the Specification

The goal is not simply to compare two numbers.

The important question is:

Does the independently measured result support the supplier and material decision?

Send PBR the parameter you want to verify, the matrix and applicable specification.
